Syd payed it. But I suspect that Roger Keith Barrett didn't. I always thought that drug addiction is a combination of a genetic predisposition and a favorable environment. But I suspect that the search for creativity is the ultimate source of drug addiction for at least some of us who don't know how to reach it by other ways... a desperate attempt to create before facing death.
